In the box
The sign, three ropes and a wall hanger. The ropes come unbraided — you weave them together during the ceremony, then the braid stays on the sign for good. Easel not included.
A Cord of Three Strands sign is the wooden centrepiece of the braiding ceremony: three strands hang from a rope cross, and during the vows the couple weaves them into one braid — the bride, the groom and God, “a cord of three strands is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiastes 4:12). Unlike a unity candle or sand, it does not burn out or sit in a jar: it goes home and hangs on the wall with your names and date on it.
Every sign in this collection is cut from Baltic birch in our family workshop in Florida and personalized by hand — first names, last name and the wedding date are cut as raised 3D letters, not printed or vinyl. The designs differ in stain, letter colour, rope colour and how the verse is placed, so the photos are the honest guide: pick the one that matches your ceremony setting and your walls afterwards.

Questions couples ask
When should I order for my wedding?
Order at least three weeks before the date to be safe. Production takes 2–4 business days and US shipping 2–5 days; if you are closer than that, message us before ordering and we will tell you honestly whether it can arrive in time.
Do the ropes come braided or unbraided?
Unbraided. That is the whole point of the ceremony — the three strands hang loose from the cross, and you and your partner braid them together during the vows. Once braided, the cord stays on the sign as a keepsake. The three ropes are included, cut to length and finished so they do not fray, and a wall hanger comes with every sign. If you would rather receive it already braided (for a display piece or an anniversary gift), say so in the order notes.
Is the easel included?
No — the sign is made to stand on any standard easel or to hang on a wall. Most couples use a tabletop easel for the ceremony and hang the sign at home afterwards.
Can I change the verse or the wording?
The Ecclesiastes 4:12 verse is standard, but the names, last name and date are yours, and a different line or a short phrase can usually be cut instead. Use the notes field when ordering or write to us first.
What is the difference between the finishes?
Dark walnut is the classic — dark board, light or white letters, cream rope. Natural birch is lighter and warmer, with black or natural letters. Grey stain suits modern and coastal weddings. The engraved version has the verse cut into the board rather than raised. Each product page shows the exact combination in real ceremony photos.
