Five layers of plywood, and the piece we use to show what a travel agency lobby sign can be.

A royal-blue border over pale birch, the script initials raised at the centre, the trade on a painted banner, and the founding line engraved into the apron below. The shield shape is a workhorse for auto shops — it fills a customer-facing wall without needing to be huge.

The client's wordmark is not part of the piece, so the silhouette carries the whole identity. This shape works hard for home builders, realtors and home services.

Consultancies usually want one clean mark and nothing else on the wall — this is that brief, in wood rather than acrylic.

Retail signage for a shop where the product is already loud — the sign had to compete.

The dog is engraved rather than painted, which is why the coat holds detail you can still read up close.

Corporate Brand Markbti

bti — Corporate Brand MarkA corporate brand mark cut as a rounded-square tile in two blues — a mid-blue backer under a lighter blue face — carrying large white cut-out letters and a fine curve rising off the stem. No tagline, no descriptor: when a brand is confident enough to be three letters, the sign should be too.

The mark is cut in layered birch plywood: a navy and royal-blue wave swoosh standing proud of the panel, with the company name raised above a painted blue bar. Built as an interior lobby sign for a boatyard reception wall, and light enough to hang on drywall with two keyhole slots.

Premier South Roofing — Roofing & Sheet MetalPremier South Roofing & Sheet Metal. A shield-shaped office sign in layered wood — a blue circular emblem with a roofer silhouette raised above the face, the company name in cut lettering and the service line finished in a fine outline. A typical contractor lobby sign: readable from across a room, no plastic, no vinyl.

A round business logo sign combining two techniques: the ship's wheel, crossed anchor and oar are engraved into the disc, while the arched company name and the curved town line sit on top in pale birch. Round signs like this one read well on a narrow pier office or boatyard wall.

The panel itself is cut to a mountain range profile in dark walnut stain, with pale birch peaks, a lattice tower crane and an orange container stacked as separate layers. Layered blue water closes the base. Made as a reception sign for a construction and rigging office.

Mascot marks are the best possible case for layered wood: the muzzle, the horns and the ears all sit on different planes.
