Making a Corporate Logo Feel Warm: The Story of JM Management's Custom Office Sign

When you walk into a modern office lobby, you usually expect to see signs made of acrylic, plastic, or brushed aluminum. They look neat and uniform, but they rarely tell a story. They can feel cold and detached.

When JM Management reached out to our workshop, they wanted to break that corporate mold. They needed a high-quality sign for their office space that would look professional and establish trust, but also bring in the natural, organic warmth of real wood.

We started with a solid background made of Baltic Birch plywood, stained in a deep, rich walnut. We kept the wood grain vertical, which gives the sign a taller, grounded appearance. The contrast here is what makes the sign work so well: the circular monogram logo is painted in a matte black that sits quietly on the dark wood, while the letters of 'Management' are painted in a stark, clean white that stands out immediately.

Because the logo and letters are cut from separate layers of wood and mounted on top of the base, the sign has a wonderful 3D depth. As the light changes in their office throughout the day, soft shadows fall across the wood grain, making the sign feel alive.

It was a pleasure to make this piece, and it is a great reminder that even the most formal business branding can feel warm and welcoming when it is crafted by hand.
